Profile of Julie Lux, Accountant.
Hello Julie, first of all, could you describe your career?
August 2011, 20 years old, I’m flying to the mainland France, direction Aurillac to follow a Professional Degree in Finance-Accounting. Native from Guadeloupe, I arrived in the middle of the International Street Theatre Festival with my suitcase. So the adaptation was festive, hectic and then very quickly icy at the sight of the weather.
At the end of this training course, I started my professional life in mass distribution at the Intermarché of Saint Geniez d’Olt, in the north-east of Aveyron. I was an accountant, and was in charge of managing the accounting, analytical, social and payroll departments, organising and monitoring inventories… I stayed there for 4 years: 4 years of nature, hiking and breathtaking landscapes.
Looking for professional development, I joined the Group Carré in 2016. I was 2nd in the financial department, preceded by the the CFO who arrived 6 months earlier. Everything had to be built and it was very rewarding. Thanks to Amarenco, I also took advantage of this to enrich my curriculum and, for a year and a half, I did a Master’s degree in Internal Audit and Management Control in Part Time at Toulouse Business School, which I obtained.
Could you describe your position, your assignments at Amarenco?
I am in charge of the accounting management of the companies I manage. All of a company’s flows are codified using the General Accounting Plan which is regulated and enacted in France by the French Accounting Standards Authority. These flows are transcribed into an accounting software tool. The final content allows for the output of various internal financial reports/accounting situation/annual balance sheet in order to know the profitability of the companies.
Our missions are aimed at company directors, enabling them to understand their company’s financial situation. They are also intended for the tax authorities, as our mission is to declare the various taxes imposed on the company within the deadlines set by the French administration.
Why did you choose to work at Amarenco?
The location of Amarenco’s head office is an ideal place for people like me who wish to work in a rural environment and close to nature, as well as for its proximity to the metropolis of Toulouse.
Little lighter touch: what are your passions in life?
I love music, all kinds of music. Sometimes I whisper a few song lyrics to the delight of my fellow neighbours.
I also do dance, painting, sewing, arts and crafts, baking …
